While in D.C. in September, I was walking through the Smithsonian on the way to the Capitol. This little creature came up and followed me around for a bit. Luckily, it was nice enough to sit still for this photo.

“Cooling Off”

The heat in Dallas, Texas yesterday was seriously unbearable. As long as I've been here, even I was surprised by how hot it was. While working around the loft this little creature fluttered in my open window and rested for a second. I would like to believe it was cooling off. Last year I bought a macro lens "just in case"; I had never used it until this moment. I was able to get about five or six shots before it flew away. Here's my favorite.

Yesterday I awoke to very unfortunate news. A good friend and aritst, Alvaro "Minus WON" Angeles, passed away at a very young age. He will be sorely missed, but he was immortalized through his graffiti. Here are some pics of the memorial gathering on Sunday October 16, 2011. R.I.P. Minus - December 23, 1977 - October 15, 2011.

On a recent Sunday afternoon, I realized I hadn't posted any new pics. So I grabbed my camera and went to my loft window which is on the 6th floor of the building I live in. The clouds in the sky that day caught my attention. Here are a few clusters I captured.

Last month was the 5th anniversary of Kixpo, the streetwear and sneaker exposition of Dallas, Texas. I am fortunate to be one of the official DJs so in between sets, I snapped a few displays which provided a very nice collage of colors. I used the 50mm because my original intention was to get portraits of some of the participants.

I'm second generation to what is known as one of the largest family in Lawton, Oklahoma's history. This means a lot of relatives. Unfortunately, the oldest of the first generation passed away in May of 2011. The good from the bad was it brought many family members together from across the country. I managed to get a few portraits of uncles, aunts, and some cousins.
